Thank You Mom!!!!

Words cannot express how thankful I am for my awesome and amazing mother! She helps me out in so many ways and I don't know how I would survive without her. Lately I have been overwhelmed with my husband working out of town and being trapped inside my house with three kids due to the snow. My Mom thought I needed cheering up so she bought me I Married Adventure. She read my previous blog post about the book and went on Ebay to purchase it for me. I am deliriously happy with my gift. No matter what though, I am truly blessed to have my mother help me navigate through these tough times!

New Additions

Here is a glimpse of a two new things I've purchased recently. I am trying to spruce up my home for a baby-shower I am hosting for my sister in two weeks. I got the owls from High Street Market. I love this blog and am constantly checking it for new items at her Etsy store. The wreath is from Target. Not too exciting but I thought I would share.

Happy Valentines Day

Johanna has been home from school for over three weeks due to snow days and teacher workdays. To occupy her time, she has been working on home-made Valentines. She gets about four made a day. She loves glitter and glue and this causes about three times the amount of time to clean up compared to making them. I don't mind though. She is happy and content and it steers her away from the ever looming television. We have also been baking. I am eating my way through these days home.

I Married Adventure

I have been trying to get my hands on I Married Adventure by Osa Johnson for quite some time. It seems that every time I try to get one off Ebay, I get outbid. It also appears that this book is popping up in every shelter magazine imaginable. I counted it twice in Lonny in separate articles. Basically, I want this book based on aesthetics alone. Do I need the book? No! Maybe I will be browsing McKay's Used Books one day and happen upon the book.

Snow Days

We are getting a ton done around the house as we are stuck inside due to the two feet of snow outside. Between trips outside with the kids, Jason has been painting and I have been rearranging. I am hosting a baby shower for my sister in a month so I need my house to be spit-spot!

Living Room Redo

Recently we purchased a new couch at Green Front Furniture in Manassas. If you have not been to Green Front, I highly recommend you go if you are looking for new furniture! Getting a new couch motivated me to redecorate my living room. I thought I'd give a glimpse of what I have done so far.
I created the wall art from a bird calendar and cheap picture frames from Michael's.
I purchased this velvet upholstered ottoman at Home Goods at an amazing price!

Jane Austin

As I was watching Masterpiece Theatre's adaption of Jane Austin's Emma, I could not help noticing the beautiful interior of Emma's home, Hartfield. The furniture, wallpaper, paintings, and accessories throughout the home were beautiful, especially the hot pink chairs and camelback sofa and yellow damask wallpaper. I love all of Masterpiece Theatre's adaptions of Jane Austin's classic stories. I think I have seen each one at least five times. Although it is not produced by Masterpiece Theatre, Keira Knightley's version of Pride and Prejudice is my favorite. The Masterpiece version with Colin Firth is wonderful also. Watching the movies for the amazing backdrops is almost as good as watching them for their wonderful stories!
